PROFILE                             Qualified veterinary surgeon for 21 years. I have worked in many aspects of veterinary medicine, including mixed and small animal practice, State Veterinary Service and locum work.

 Dec 2011-present    
 Locum veterinary surgeon -  At present working full time in first opinion small animal practice

 October 2006 – present     
Vets Now, Bristol -  Employed on a permanent part time basis doing small animal emergency work

 Feb 2001-Dec2011          
Animal Health, Gloucester/Trowbridge animal health office - Employed as a VI responsible for the management of notifiable diseases  Including Tuberculosis and Foot and Mouth

  April 2004-present              
Small animal locum work - Varying from a single handed practice to mobile veterinary clinic.

July 2000-February 2001 
Mixed though predominantly small animal work -  Glenleigh Veterinary Centre (Now Garston House) Working as part of a team of 5 veterinary surgeons, I assisted the small animal partner in this busy centre.

 January 2000-July 2000 
Veterinary Locum Work -  Varied locum work at centres throughout the South West of England and  South Wales. Practices varied from sole charge to veterinary hospitals.

 October 1990-Jan 2000     
Three mixed practices and an extended period of locum work - After graduation I worked for 9 months at my local practice, followed by over 2 years in a mixed practice in Leicestershire, and 6.5 years in a mixed practice in Somerset. This was followed by locum work around the Midlands where I worked in a variety of practices.

 INTERESTS
 -forms of sports, especially skiing and squash.

 -I am chairman of The Tandem Club. This organisation has over 5000 members. I have organised many national and international events for it’s members and oversee an organisation with a turnover in excess of £50000/annum.

-Voluntary leading cycle tours for the Cyclists Touring Club. This involved the total organisation of a holiday for up to 40 people. In the past few years, I have led tours to America, India and China. These holidays are ABTA bonded and involve both leadership, interpersonal and organisational skills
